Modus Operandi

    Memes are magical things; they can be both deeply meaningful, and simultaneously a complete waste of time. 

    This blog strives to embody the former, but not the latter. Hopefully, these articles will educate, provoke thought, make you laugh, and maybe even make you angry. If they do any of these things, then I consider it a job well done! To the enterprising blogger, all engagement is good engagement if you squint hard enough...

    I like this meme, because it perfectly encapsulates the precariousness of our times. In our own way, we all tread upon the tightrope of uncertainty. Though we prefer not to contemplate it, our lives are far more unpredictable than we would prefer. Some of us take solace in this reality by putting faith in a power beyond our understanding, others teeter on the edge of rank nihilism. 

    But while we cannot control the course of events in the world around us, we can always do more to understand them. Its easy for us to over-simplify things, or to peak at life through a pinhole. 

    

    But as independent, rational, free thinking individuals, we must always strive to seek new perspectives outside our comfort zones. We must never be content with that which is known. Life is nothing if not a relentless push for new frontiers of knowledge. 

    Most importantly, it is crucial that we recognize that sometimes, everything isn't fine, that a change is needed. 

    The best way to usher substantive change in any aspect of our lives is to refrain from taking refuge in any of our preconceived notions. We must always be willing to challenge what we think, always prepared to question our own views. Like this blog, nothing which we think, do, or say is set in stone, and all is malleable by the winds of time. 

    This blog is therefore much like life. It is a journey to new perspectives, and a window to novel alternatives. And we are going to have fun along the way!
